While training is actually one of my favorite things to do, it isn’t always a practical thing to do.
Getting a group of people together at the same time in the right frame of mind to improve their computer skills is somewhat like herding cats!
Spending 3-4 hours one-on-one to learn the basics of a new software isn’t cost-effective.
So I have found an option! Use the training videos to get the BIG picture on the capabilities of a software. Then contact YCL for the fine-tuning.
For a small monthly fee (as low as $25!), you can register with Lynda.com to watch
- all of the training videos you want
- on a wide, wide range of topics
- short, focused videos on a topic that you control your time
- groups of progressive videos on a software, i.e., Microsoft Word 20?? Essentials
Watch the videos in order or skip around to get just the techniques you need. Watch a video twice to get a complicated sequence down perfectly. Watch for as long as you want. Most of the videos are short segments. So you don’t have to devote 2 hours or half a day to learning. Take a 15 minute lunch break and polish up your computer skills!
Look at the range of topics:
Microsoft Excel | ACT! | Photography | InDesign |
Creating Animated Characters | AutoCAD | Audio for Film & Video | Remixing a Song |
Switching to MAC | Building Professional Connections | Google Calendar | |
Email Marketing Strategies | Time Management | Google + | EverNote |
Go to the Lynda.com site to browse the course offerings. I guarantee there is something there you will be interested in!

Training
I am certainly available to do personal training if you prefer one-on-one sessions. Or to do small group training to implement company procedures. Just give me a call to discuss what you need!
