“Creating content for your social media channels can be an arduous and time-consuming task. This is why savvy social media marketers will get the most out of any content they create.

Plant Your Friggin’ Tree!

I love this discussion with Pat Lencioni and team about the NEED to make decisions now and move in the right direction. I agree with him. We can’t wait for “normal” to return. It’s not coming back.  Make your plans. Adjust as necessary. But do it now!

There is an old Chinese proverb that says, “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.”

Request for Reviews

Testimonials have always been an important part of marketing. Today, in our digital world, online reviews are critical. Many prospects check for reviews on Google or Facebook before they even visit a company’s website.

Best Option

Ask your clients for reviews right after you finish a project. They are happy and the work is fresh on their minds. Give them the links they need to get to the site or sites you want to build up. Follow up once or twice. People are busy and they may get distracted on the way to
doing the review.

Continuing Efforts
  1. Put a request for reviews and the appropriate links in your
    email signature.
  2. Add a reviews block to your email template so that each email asks for reviews. Use logos and link directly to the sites.
  3. Add a section on your Home Page with logos and links to review sites. When clients visit your site they get a reminder request.

Is YouTube Social Media? Why the Answer Matters for Your Marketing Strategy

When people talk about social media, YouTube often gets left out of the conversation—despite being the second most visited website in the world. As a Fractional CMO and someone who’s helped brands build deeper relationships through digital content, I believe the real question isn’t whether YouTube is social media, but how we’re leveraging it as one of the many social media sites available for marketing.

Why Do I Have to Give My Address to Send Emails?

This is blurb from Constant Contact explaining why an address is required on every email.

“The anti-spam laws of many countries, such as the US CAN-SPAM Act, require that you include a physical address in your email campaigns. Telling your recipients where you’re located is one way to show them that the email is coming from a legitimate source.”

You can use a PO Box, a postal service address or something other than a street address. But some legitimate address is required.
