SEO Reality
I get emails from clients and sometimes from spammers offering to make me a Google star within 30 days for 1 low monthly fee.
Ain’t happening! This is definitely one of those “If it sounds too good to be true, it is” offers.
Here is a snip from an ad by GoDaddy.

I don’t mean to rain on your parade. There are circumstances where SEO can make a difference for your site and for your sales. But it is not a quick fix. It is expensive. It is work to make it happen. Do your research. Get references on the SEO company. Set a budget.

Expanding Google Search Requirements
This message recently appeared in my Inbox.
In plain words, Google is now indexing / ranking my website based on my mobile version. Luckily I have a mobile-friendly website already.
Because the amount of searching done from SmartPhones and tablets is growing, Google is putting more emphasis on mobile websites.
Most businesses need a “mobile-friendly” site. When you visit from your SmartPhone, you see the same website. It’s just arranged differently to view easier on a SmartPhone. Some businesses – restaurants, dry cleaners, retail stores, etc. need a separate mobile website. Since a large portion of their visitors are coming from mobile, their sites need to be customized for the mobile viewer. For example, if I’m trying to find Zappone’s Italian Bistro to pick up a pizza on the way home, I don’t care about the company history or management team. Just show me where to go for the pizza!
First, do you need a special mobile website?
If not, do you have a mobile-friendly website?
