IHC logoWith a growing team of health insurance agents, Karla Flores Smith, Regional Sales Leader for IHC Specialty Benefits wants to support the agents with email marketing.

Educational Series for New Clients

First there is a series of emails to introduce and remind new clients about all of the services available from IHC. Karla wrote four emails covering the most important items. This is an excellent way to strengthen the relationship between the client and agent.

Monthly Email

Next clients, prospects, professional colleagues receive a monthly email full of educational articles. The email topics range from arthritis awareness to sun safety.  Each month includes a FAQ about health care insurance. As a bonus, Karla shares one of her own Eat Healthy recipes.  Karla prepares the content. The emails are sent to the clients of any agent who wishes to participate!

Expanding Services

Dr Holly Castle NDDr. Holly Castle, ND is building on her 20+ years of expertise and is teaching hard to find classes for her colleagues.  YCL worked with her to build custom landing pages for both the Unda classes and the Gemmo classes.

The landing pages included descriptions of the classes, testimonials from previous students and a PayPal button for quick registration.

The pages are simple and can be updated easily to accommodate future classes.

With the landing pages in place, YCL helped develop emails promoting the classes.  Dr. Castle used page links in Facebook posts also which drew attendees as well as visitors to her website.

Printwerx Social Media Marketing

PrintwerxIn the 2+ years, Alice Woodard, owner of Printwerx has worked with YCL for social media, we have worked out a sweet system!  Once a month, we meet to finalize the pieces of info for the current month’s marketing: 2 emails, 4-8 social media posts on the blog, Facebook and Instagram.

Alice uses her insider knowledge to find the products to talk about and the articles to best educate her clients. YCL pulls all the pieces together in the right format for each platform. After Alice approves the draft, the posts are made, the emails are sent. Alice then gets reports showing her the results of the campaign.

At the monthly meeting, we also talk about ideas for the next 2-3 months. This gives Alice thinking time. She can find the best articles, not the ones she locates in 15 minutes before the deadline. She may have second thoughts and change a topic for a better one. Deadlines don’t compromise quality. If she finds an interesting article on a new topic, we add it to the Marketing Calendar to consider at the next meeting. Good ideas don’t get lost!

Barbara’s Picks – Update!

Barbara KaplanNeither Barbara nor I will admit to how many years we’ve been working together! Let’s just say more than 10.

The work has changed over time as Barbara’s businesses and especially Barbara’s Picks have evolved.  Currently, YCL does:

  • Email marketing to a 4000+ consumer email list
  • Social media posting on 4 Facebook pages, Instagram, Google, LinkedIn.
    • YCL gathers info about the Barbara’s Picks members, drafts the posts and makes them on the appropriate platforms.
    • YCL works with Barbara to promote her appearances on radio, TV and podcasts.
  • Website maintenance and blog posts.

All of our efforts are measured to help Barbara see which marketing is having the most impact.

Barbara has a great talent and love for educating the homeowner about the importance of making interior design about the person as well as the physical room.  “Rooms have no feelings, You do!”  We use her articles on all social platforms to help homeowners “Live With What You Love.”

Cornerstone Cabinet Company – Update!

Cornerstone Cabinet CompanyYCL has been doing social media posting for Cornerstone since 2015.  We coordinate their blog posts, with their email marketing campaign and with their social media posts on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Google My Business.  Owner, Chris Boulton, understands the value of photography so he has professional photos taken of projects that we can use with all aspects of the marketing campaign. The pictures with Chris’ explanation of the project builds confidence in prospects’ to help them choose to work with Cornerstone Cabinet Company. Karla Flores Smith has built a strong team of knowledgeable agents to offer a wide variety of health care coverages.  They needed a site to support their in person marketing efforts. Special features of the site include:

  • Insurance Page – No need to wait for snail mail or even email to get a policy brochure to a prospect. This page lists the various policies and links to brochures the prospect can read or download in preparation for a meeting with the agent.
  • Career Page – Many people are looking for new careers now. This page offers guidance about becoming a health care insurance advisor and about joining the Insurance Experts team.
  • Set Appointment Page –  A prospect or existing clients can schedule an appointment at their convenience through this page which provides links to each agent’s Calendly appointments. It’s available 24/7. There’s no phone tag!
  • Directory Page – As different agents have different specialties, licenses and service areas, a visitor can quickly find information about their current agent or look for a new agent that fits just what they need.
  • Blog – Articles from the agents or the team’s monthly emails are posted on the blog to expand the site’s content. This increases the chances of the site being included in Google search results. It helps researching prospects find the team.

Updated Website – STAR Concepts

Sandy Aguilera, founder of STAR Concepts, has unbelievable experience in law enforcement and self-defense.  She is able to connect so well with the students in her classes which gives them confidence to implement strategies to better protect themselves. She had started a website but needed help polishing it up.

Your Computer Lady helped resize photos and put them in better places on the pages. We made the Home Page slider work properly. We made the pages more consistent therefore easier to read.  Our copywriter expanded the content on the pages to give a more thorough picture of STAR Concepts mission and capabilities. (And improve the site’s search engine optimization!)

Anyone can build a website.  This is true.  However, you need to take into consideration the amount of time it will take you to learn the software and input your information. You need to consider what your site will be missing because you don’t have advanced skills and experience. If you input photos of the wrong size in a slider, the photos are going to look bad. Do you have the software to resize photos?  Do you know how?

My recommendation is to let professionals build the site. Then take some lessons to learn how to update the information.  You can change page content on the fly in case you add a new class.  You can make blog posts to expand your site’s content.  This is the best of both worlds. You’re keeping costs down while building a quality site.
