Article from GoDaddy Promotes Email Marketing
I see you roll your eyes when I start talking about the value of email marketing!! LOL Here is a quote from a GoDaddy article talking about the continuing benefits of email marketing.
Hop on the email marketing train
Hearing the term “old school” conjures up images of outdated trends, especially when it comes to describing online marketing tactics. However, there is one old school digital marketing practice that remains as powerful today, as the day the Internet became a commercial success.
The tactic has evolved over the years to include automation and content marketing techniques that enhance the experience customers have when reading email newsletters.
For Google customer reviews, it is not simply about email marketing, it is about reminding your customers about Google’s customer review platform.
For YCL clients, I include a review section in their email template just for this reason. Ask and ask and ask again for reviews! Each time we email, we ask for reviews at all of your review sites. So when a client is thinking of you, we make it easy to do a review.

Why Do I Have to Give My Address to Send Emails?
Marketing
One of the worst things to hear from a client is “Oh, I didn’t know you did that!” So use your Marketing Calendar to ensure that you are covering all services/products on a regular basis. Keep those services “top of mind” for your clients. It’s easier and more profitable to expand a current client than to go out and get a new client.
Only One Gmail Inbox
Having an Inbox, Social and a Promotions tab is too much!! Sorting is supposed to help but it just mucks things up for me.
So turn the extras off.
In Gmail,
- Go to Settings
- Settings
- The Inbox tab
- In the Categories section,
- Un-check Social, Promotions, Updates, Forums
- At the bottom of the page, click the Save Changes button
Go back to your Inbox. There’s only 1!!!!
New from Constant Contact
Constant Contact is a long time favorite of mine for email marketing. I like their interface. I like their Knowledge Base. I LOVE their live tech support.
Now they are expanding to become a broader digital marketing company. What’s new so far?
LogoMaker – For the long term, you can’t do without a high quality logo for your company. But this logo maker is a starting point. It is also a great option for a special logo for an event, a product introduction, a new service announcement.
Social Media Posts & Analytics – You can schedule posts for Facebook and Instagram from your Constant Contact account. And you can read your analytics from CtCt.
Website Builder – It seems everyone has a website builder these days. I’m leery of them because they are proprietary software which limits your website. The advantage the CtCt builder has is that it is an interface you are already familiar with. Your learning curve would be lower. If you are considering a small, simple website, I recommend looking at the CtCt option. The site would, of course, have an opt in that would connect directly with your CtCt email list.
Should You Use Email Marketing This Holiday Season?
In 2018, email marketing drove 24% of sales during the holiday season.
This year, according to The National Retail Federation: “holiday retail sales during November and December [are expected] to increase between 3.8 percent and 4.2 percent over 2018 to a total of between $727.9 billion and $730.7 billion”.
