Marketing
One of the worst things to hear from a client is “Oh, I didn’t know you did that!” So use your Marketing Calendar to ensure that you are covering all services/products on a regular basis. Keep those services “top of mind” for your clients. It’s easier and more profitable to expand a current client than to go out and get a new client.
Only One Gmail Inbox
Having an Inbox, Social and a Promotions tab is too much!! Sorting is supposed to help but it just mucks things up for me.
So turn the extras off.
In Gmail,
- Go to Settings
- Settings
- The Inbox tab
- In the Categories section,
- Un-check Social, Promotions, Updates, Forums
- At the bottom of the page, click the Save Changes button
Go back to your Inbox. There’s only 1!!!!
New from Constant Contact
Constant Contact is a long time favorite of mine for email marketing. I like their interface. I like their Knowledge Base. I LOVE their live tech support.
Now they are expanding to become a broader digital marketing company. What’s new so far?
LogoMaker – For the long term, you can’t do without a high quality logo for your company. But this logo maker is a starting point. It is also a great option for a special logo for an event, a product introduction, a new service announcement.
Social Media Posts & Analytics – You can schedule posts for Facebook and Instagram from your Constant Contact account. And you can read your analytics from CtCt.
Website Builder – It seems everyone has a website builder these days. I’m leery of them because they are proprietary software which limits your website. The advantage the CtCt builder has is that it is an interface you are already familiar with. Your learning curve would be lower. If you are considering a small, simple website, I recommend looking at the CtCt option. The site would, of course, have an opt in that would connect directly with your CtCt email list.
Should You Use Email Marketing This Holiday Season?

This year, according to The National Retail Federation: “holiday retail sales during November and December [are expected] to increase between 3.8 percent and 4.2 percent over 2018 to a total of between $727.9 billion and $730.7 billion”.

Benefits of Drip Email Marketing Campaign
I am a HUGE believer in drip aka automated email campaigns. They are such a powerful way to introduce your company to new prospects. Or to solidify a new relationship with a client. Or even to re-introduce yourself to a client you haven’t heard from in awhile. Here’s a thorough article explaining the benefits and some how-to’s for a successful campaign.
Gmail Send Options
Woo hoo!!! Did you see the new Schedule Send option Gmail added!! I’m so happy!! You can now schedule your emails to go out at a specific date/time. Working at 2 am? Schedule emails to go out at 8 am. Working on Saturday afternoon? Schedule emails to go out Monday morning. You need to have boundaries for your work day. If you CHOOSE to make an exception, don’t train your recipients to expect it. It’s better if they don’t know you’re working on Saturday. Then they won’t expect you to work on Saturday. Stay in charge of your life by using technology wisely.
